Dr. Robert S. Millard

Dr. Robert Millard graduated from college at Michigan State University and attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He did his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California, Irvine. He did a one year post graduate fellowship in spine, sports and occupational rehabilitation with his current group. He began his private practice in 1993 and is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Millard has served as team physician for the following: Santa Clara University; DeAnza/Foothill Colleges; Serra High School; College of Notre Dame and the Silicon Valley Ballet Company. He has been a team physician for the San Francisco 49ers since 1993 and continues to serve in this capacity. Recently, he has expanded his professional sports coverage; he has been on the medical staffs of the San Jose Sharks and the San Jose Sabercats since the 2005 season. He is also an active member of both the NFL and NHL Team Physician Societies.

Dr. Millard has written text book chapters on cervical, lumbar and peripheral joint injection techniques. He lectures nationally on topics varying from non-operative management of spine injuries to the management of common injuries seen in the NFL. He also has made appearances on TV and radio to discuss the diagnosis and management of common sports injuries, especially those seen in NFL athletes.
